Platy Problem, BB Cat incomp.    5/8/11
Hello WWM,
<Hi Andy>
I want to begin by thanking you for having such a wonderful website, I can't tell you how many times I've looked at it when I had a problem with my tank. I'm writing today about a 10G setup I have with 4 platys (3F 1M) and a South American Bumblebee Catfish.
<Microglanis iheringi... Mmm, this last can be quite aggressive>
Also, two of the Platies are pregnant.
I noticed this morning that 2 of my Platies have what appears to be a white abrasion on their sides.
<... the Catfish>
I don't think it's Ich because it looks like a wound. I don't think Platies would nip each other would they?
<Not "that" hard, no>
I'm starting to think that the Bumblebee nipped them during the night as they were fine yesterday.
<I do concur>
Could it be a disease or is it most likely that the catfish attacked them? What could I do to help them get better?
<Separate these two species.>
-Thank you,
-Andrew
