Amia calva Linnaeus 1766, the Bowfin. North America; St. Lawrence Seaway to Minnesota. To more than a meter/yard in length. A cool water (15-20 C.) ancient bony fish. Only member of its family still on the planet. A voracious eater of most all foodstuffs, tankmates.
