Metynnis maculatus (Kner 1858), the Spotted Metynnis. South America; the Guapore Area. To about seven inches in length. Cond.s: pH 6-7.2, dH to 10, temp. 20-28 C. Another common "Silver Dollar" in the aquarium trade. 

Pygocentrus nattereri Kner 1858, the Red (-Bellied) Piranha. Rivers of central and southern South America, east of the Andes. To about thirteen inches in length. the old timey favorite aquarium Piranha.  Cond.s: pH 5.5-7.5, dH to 20, temp. 23-27 C. Aquarium pix
 
Piaractus brachypomus (Cuvier 1817), the Red-Bellied Pacu is the Pirapatinga to science and many South Americans. Found in the upper and middle Amazon River. Juveniles very similar to Serrasalmus nattereri. In the wild feeds on insects and decaying plants. To Eighteen inches, 25 kg. in weight according to FishBase. Cond.s: pH4.8-6.8, dH to 15, temp. 23-28 C.  A juvenile in captivity.
