Mycale laevis, the White or Orange King or Boring Sponge. Bright orange to yellow with white excurrent siphons. Grow under, about a few species of stony corals, actually protecting them from bio-erosion by other/boring sponge species. Cozumel 2019.



Agelas clathrodes, the aptly named Elephant Ear Sponge, right size (to a meter and a half across), wrong colour... orange.  Spongy; lumpy to bulbous vases. This pachyderm dimension specimen in Cozumel 2019.



Agelas tubulata, the Tubulate Sponge. Grow in clusters, joined at base, with rounded, lighter colored openings. Smooth walls of tan to brown color. Cozumel 2019.
