Neon Velvet Damsel (Paraglyphidodon oxyodon), sexing   12/25/08
Hi, how do I tell the difference in sex of this species?
<Mmm, as far as my ref.s and observations of the all-black adults in the wild recollection, the sexes cannot be discerned externally>
I have two which look identical in markings, one over a year old, and the other smaller just acquired. Will they sex out like a clownfish?
<Mmm... in a manner of speaking, yes...>
they seem to get along fine.
<Ah, good. This can be a very pugnacious, territorial species... in the wild, it vigorously defends its territory from all other algae eating animals, including conspecifics>
Thanks,
Dave
