The Red-Toothed or Niger Trigger, Odonus niger (Ruppell 1836), gets its first name from the color around the mouth that develops as the fish attains maximum size (to 18 inches). Indo-Pacific, Red Sea.  This is generally a medium aggressive species, safe for rough and tumble fish-only systems. Mabul, Malaysia.

Indo-Pacific, Red Sea.  This is generally a medium aggressive species, safe for rough and tumble fish-only systems. A large shoal at a break in the Ari Atoll and Indian Ocean, Maldives.
 

 

Bodianus opercularis (Guichenot 1847), the Blackspot Hogfish. Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea. To nine inches in length. A rare, but great beauty.  
 

 

Genicanthus watanabei (Yasuda & Tominaga 1970), Watanabe's Angelfish (2). Amongst the hardiest of the genus (that makes it into pet-fish markets). Western and central Pacific. To six inches total length.
